Youth

…setting an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity (1st Timothy 4:12)

Our Youth ministry is more than programs and events. It is every effort by the church to reach out to the youth with the love of God as revealed to us in Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit.

The ministry strives to provide a variety of opportunities and experiences to draw the youth into active, responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community and the greater church. It is designed to help spiritually train and equip in a fun and Godly atmosphere to the Glory of God.

University Outreach and Gospel Impact

The church has and continues to put a lot of effort in outreach among the universities and colleges around Eldoret. University of Eldoret (UoE) has received the church’s prayer, attention and efforts. Bible discussions are held with students in the Halls of Residence. Several students come to church on Sundays, Bible study on Thursdays and to young people’s meetings dubbed ‘Table Talks’ every other month. Early 2019, the church admitted into membership six from UoE and one from Moi University main campus among others. Other institutions of higher learning where the church has often had opportunities of ministry include College of Health Sciences, School of Law, and Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC).

Reformed Youth Conference

Origin

The Reformed Youth Conference is an annual August event that started in 2017 with the event being held at Grace Baptist Church Kisumu. It is supported by the association of Reformed Baptist Churches under the Reformation Carried Forward by Kenyans (ReCFoK), including Grace Baptist Church – Kisumu, and its Church Plants; Grace Baptist Church – Eldoret and its Church Plants; and Bethesda Baptist Church – Tassia and its church plants.

Objectives

The event intends to help the youth in Kenya gain biblical convictions and stand in various issues that they come across in their life and walk in Christianity.

It also offers the Reformed Baptist youth a platform to meet and make friends with youths of similar minds and convictions, which should lead to lasting friendships and marriages; both guided with a biblical approach. It is therefore well to state that the event’s objectives are: (1).To spur biblical convictions and stand among the issues of the youth. (2). To inspire Godly Friendships and Unions among Christian youths.

Outcome

The event has seen growth in attendance over the years, with 2017 gathering 15 youths at GBC, Kisumu, 2018 bringing together 20 youths for 2 days at Jan’s academy in Kisumu and 2019 bringing together 30 youths for 3 days at Covenant Baptist Church, in Nakuru. We are hopeful that more youths will join us this year as we embark on this August event. It is our joy as the organizers of this event to extend the invitation to all youths in our associate churches and beyond who would like to join us on this journey of Knowing our Lord Jesus Christ and molding our young lives according to His sovereign will as revealed to us in his word.

Table Talks

Table Talk serves as a ministry aimed at engaging and mobilizing youth fellowship, focusing on doctrinal topics relevant to their daily lives for learning and discussion. We have them every quarter.
